All my oil paintings are created on either wood panel, MDF panel, or canvas. I prepare every surface myself using a marble-dust gesso made with my own special recipe, and I work exclusively with high-quality oil paints to ensure lasting, vibrant results.
Every painting begins with an idea, an observation or a memory.
I’m interested in the way light, colour, atmosphere and texture can transform a scene. Some paintings begin with direct observation, while others develop from photographs, memories and experiences gathered over time.
The painting process is rarely completely predictable.
I allow the work to develop through layers of oil paint, responding to what happens on the canvas as I go.
